Józef Mackiewicz found himself in Katyn on May 21 or 22, 1943, at the found graves of Polish officers, together with three journalists from neutral and occupied countries and a group of Polish workers. His account was published on June 3, 1943 in ‘Goniec Codzienny’ published in Vilnius by the German occupants. The account is read by Krzysztof Wakuliński. Photographs from the exhumation come from the archives of the Katyn Museum in Warsaw.
